Cumberland extends trend

Following the discovery of new showings, Cumberland Resources (CBD-T) has quadrupled the size of its Meadowbank gold property in Nunavut.

In 1999, Cumberland took 480 samples (grab, chip and float) from a 30,000-ha area that extends northwest from the pre-existing proper- ty. Of those, 128 ran greater than 1 gram gold per tonne and 60 graded in excess of 5 grams, defining a linear trend extending 20 northwest of the known deposits at Meadowbank.

Follow-up surface exploration and drilling are to begin in April. Priority will be given to the Vault showing, 5 km from the deposits, which returned up to 42.9 grams gold.
