Crown Butte permitting milestone

An important permitting milestone was recently marked by Crown Butte Resources (TSE), the environmentally progressive owner of the New World copper-gold-silver project in Montana.

The company reports that its application for a hardrock operating permit and proposed plan of operation was recently declared complete by state and federal regulatory agencies.

The milestone marked the end of the completeness process which began in November, 1990, and the start of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process. The EIS process involves state and federal agencies, and will require at least one year to complete.

Crown Butte is proposing to build an underground mining operation at New World, where reserves will be processed by a mill using both gravity and flotation circuits. The company is owned 60% by Hemlo Gold Mines (TSE).
