Cross-Cuts MISLEADING STATEMENT

Your introduction to my article, which you entitled “Dubunking a Myth” (see January issue), says: “Junior exploration firms aren’t the mine-finders par excellence they’re made out to be. According to this study the big guys found more mines before flow- through, and they did it cheaper than the little guys.” The statement that the big guys did it cheaper than the little guys is at odds with the article’s findings; they did it at about the same cost.

I would appreciate it if you would correct this unfortunate slur on the juniors. Donald Cranstone, Mineral Policy Sector, Energy Mines & Resources Canada, Ottawa, Ont.
