William Hayes is the executive vice-president of U.S. and Latin America operations for Placer Dome. He was not elected chairman of Placer Dome as stated in our Aug. 21-27 issue; he was elected chairman of the Washington, D.C.-based Gold Institute. Robert Franklin remains chairman of Placer Dome.
The Giant Yellowknife geologist pictured on page 4 of our Aug. 28-Sept. 3 issue is Dan Bateman, not Ian Bateman.
