Correction (January 08, 2001)

In a Dec. 4-10, 2000, article about Mazarin‘s (MAZ-T) proposed purchases of Teck‘s (TEK-T) half-interest in the Niobec mine and the major’s option to acquire a 25% interest in Niocan‘s (NIO-T) Oka project, we incorrectly stated that Niocan had a right-of-first refusal on the option.

In fact, the option agreement requires Niocan’s consent before Teck can transfer its option to a third party.

Niocan says no consent will be given “until the most favourable outcome for Niocan and its shareholders is achieved.”

The Northern Miner regrets the error.
