Correction (April 06, 1987)

The story in the March 30 issue of The Northern Miner regarding production dates set at the Cargo Muchacho project in southern California and the Kirkland Lake tailings project refers to Eastmaque Gold. We apologize for any inconvenience.

U.S. Borax & Chemical Corp. has not decided to get out of the mining business as was erroneously stated two weeks ago (N.M., March 16/87). As a result of budget reductions, the company did close its eastern exploration offices and dispose of its properties there, but it is still carrying out extensive exploration activity in the western U.S. The company is the largest miner of borax in North America.
