Correction (December 16, 1996)

A story on the proposed merger between World Wide Minerals (WWS-T) and Kazakstan Goldfields (KGFC-C) contained incorrect information about the latter company’s three gold mines in Kazakstan.

The three mines are targeted to produce a total of 150,000 oz. in 1997. A modernization program is expected to boost production to 250,000 oz. at a cash cost of US$250 per oz. in 1998.
