CORRECTION (October 06, 1997)

Contrary to a remark that appeared on the Stock Markets page of our Sept.

29 issue, the Venezuelan courts have not reached a decision in the legal dispute between Crystallex International (KRY-T) and Placer Dome (PDG-T) over the Las Cristinas project.

Both companies are awaiting the final outcome of appeals made to the Venezuelan Supreme Court regarding copper rights at the project.
