CORRECTION (November 23, 1998)

The Tarmoola gold mine in Australia is owned and operated by Pacific Mining, a public company listed on the Australian stock exchange, rather than Teck (TEK-T), as reported in our issue of Nov. 2-8. However, Pacific Mining is owned 75% by Teck.
