Corona Gold (CRG-T) reports mixed results from diamond drilling carried out on the Troutfly Lake properties in the Dryden-Sioux Lookout area of northwestern Ontario.
Most of the targets tested in the 9,880-ft., 32-hole program were found to be barren sulphide and graphitic horizons with only trace amounts of gold and minor copper and zinc values.
However, a significant gold intersection was reported from hole 28, drilled in what Corona calls the Mission zone. A value of 0.4 oz. gold per ton over 4.4 ft. was obtained from a split core sample of a sheared, altered lapilli tuff unit intersected between 187 and 191 ft. Visible gold was observed and analysis of the entire sample showed that gold is evenly distributed throughout the section.
A follow-up induced-polarization survey over the area containing the gold-bearing horizon is under way and further drilling is planned.
At another of the Troutfly properties, Corona has just completed a program of geophysical and geochemical surface exploration, results of which are pending.
