Cons. Nevada hits high grade

Drilling by Consolidated Nevada Goldfields (KNV-T) has intercepted high-grade gold values at the Nixon Fork gold mine, near McGrath, Alaska.

Beneath the C-3300 level, four holes encountered narrow intervals of gold mineralization, confirming the presence of “high-grade chimneys,” says Vice-President Michael Clarke.

Hole 23 encountered 14.7 ft. grading 0.307 oz. gold per ton; hole 25 cut 4.6 ft. grading 1.34 oz. and another 9.5 ft. running 2.51 oz.; hole 26 hit 26.3 ft. of 1.56 oz.; and hole 30 hit 4.9 ft. of 0.447 oz.

Nixon Fork, reputedly the highest-grade gold mine in the U.S., produced 26,811 oz. gold during the first three quarters of 1997.
