Cons. Boundary plans more work on B.C. bet

The second stage of an underground exploration program will be carried out this season on Consolidated Boundary and Grand Forks Mines’ Golden Crown property east of Greenwood in southern British Columbia.

The companies have spent $1.3 million on 2,000 ft of drifting and crosscutting. The exploration drift is at 1,968 ft and has intersected the main mineralized zones where 77,000 tons of 0.44 oz gold per ton is drill-indicated.

A $2-million, stage-2 program is planned to block out additional tonnage. Consolidated Boundary is negotiating for flow-through funding for its share of costs.

The Golden Crown mineralization is contained within seven structures which will be explored from the drift by crosscuts, raises and diamond drilling. The zone is about 300 ft long and up to 10 ft wide.

The workings of the former producing Winnipeg mine have also been encountered in the exploration drift. The workings, which were previously inaccessible, will enable access to the mineralization some 200 ft below the present drift level.
