Toronto will host the 12th annual Canadian Conference on Markets for Industrial Minerals, scheduled for Oct. 17-18.
Titled “Industrial Minerals 2000,” the event will be hosted by Victoria, B.C.-based Blendon Information Services and will highlight industrial minerals used in glass, plastics, paper and consumer markets. Among the minerals that will be represented are: silica, soda ash, magnesia, perlite, pumice, gypsum, calcium carbonate, kaolin, vermiculite, lightweight aggregates, fly ash and slag.
Slated to make presentations on construction minerals are a host of companies, including: U.S. Silica, Shaw Resources, Harvest Ventures, Solvay Minerals, Rohm and Haas, Kline & Co., J.M. Huber, Eastroc, U.S. Gypsum, Hess Pumice, St. Lawrence Cement, ISG Resources, George Hawley & Associates, and Regis Resources.
