Conference on computer uses will run at Laval

Several universities, together with the Surface Mining Laboratory of the Canada Centre of Mineral and Energy Technology (canmet) and the cim are organizing the first Canadian Conference on Computer Applications in the Mineral Industry.

The 3-day conference will be held at Laval University March 7-9, 1988.

The conference will cover a wide range of computer applications in everything from mineral exploration, mine planning, maintenance, mineral processing, mine ventilation, geostatistics, mine monitoring, expert systems and automation.

Those interested in presenting papers should submit a detailed abstract to the organizing committee by May 30. Final manuscripts will be required by October 15.
