Committee set up for Mining Hall of Fame

A steering committee has been established to consider the viability of creating a Mining Hall of Fame.

Represented on the committee will be the Mining Association of Canada, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, the federal department of Energy Mines and Resources and The Northern Miner. Other national organizations may also be included.

The committee will consider what form a hall of fame would take in order to best honor the individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry. It will also determine the level of support from organizations and individuals across the country.

Suggestions on how and where to establish a hall of fame are welcome. Address all correspondence to James Borland, The Northern Miner, 7 Labatt Ave., Toronto, Ont. M5A3P2.
