Coeur d’Alene Mines and a consortium of native groups have entered an agreement to construct and operate the Kensington gold mine in southeast Alaska.
The three native corporations, Goldbelt, Kake Tribal and Klukwan, will provide necessary land leases and serve the purpose of meeting certain labour requirements.
Coeur will, in turn, develop and participate in training programs for jobs, which will be available once mine development begins.
