High fliers for the week on the coats system continued to be Boston Bay Mines and Belleterre Quebec Mines. The issues continued at $pd $1.40 respectively. Boston Bay vended its Lac des Iles platinum group metals deposit to Madeleine Mines which has also set records on the tse. Belleterre holds a 39.7% interest in Boston. Madeleine is busy with a large stripping program at the site north of Thunder Bay, Ont., and plans to move a 3,000-ton-per-day mill there by year-end.
Biron Bay Resources was also active, trading at $1-$1.10. The company has arranged a private placement which will raise $300,000 for working capital. Card Lake Resources backed off to $2.10. The company has made impressive gains on news of encouraging drill results from a gold play in the Harker-Holloway area in Ontario.
Edomar Resources which has been reactivated, was steady at 33 cents -38 cents . Also, Frankfield Explorations perked up, trading at 23 cents . The company holds a 36% interest in a gold showing north of Timmins, Ont. Last year, the company and partner Intex Mining talked of an underground program, which failed to materialize.
Other better issues included Goldteck Mining at $1.80-$1.90 and Caviar which closed at 70 cents -80 cents .
