Much troubled Carolin Mines, which was plagued by all sorts of problems at its Ladner Creek, B.C., gold property several years ago, is being thinly traded on coats. The issue was quiet at $1.15 this week. A new management group plans to try once again to make the property a gold producer. To this end, a deal with Wright Engineers and Giant Bay Resources has been signed. The latter companies will tackle the Ladner Creek metallurgical problems.
Hillsborough Resources traded up to $1.60 before settling back to the $1.25 range. The company controls Canadian Mine Development, which is a mining contractor. Also, Hillsborough is involved with several gold exploration projects in Canada.
A listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange is going to be sought by South American Goldfields which is active in Guyana, South America. The issue was quiet at 80 cents . American miner Homestake Mining, is a partner on several Goldfields projects. Reactivated New Yarandry, was better at 50 cents ; up 20 cents on the week.
