Continuing on their upward trend, shares of Southern Arizona Mining and Smelting jumped 20 cents to close at 57 cents. The company has entered into another option agreement whereby it will purchase 4.4 million units of Catear Resources for $1.1 million. Catear has a 20% interest in the same two Eskay Creek area properties in which Southern purchased an interest earlier this month. Shares of Lithium soared to 57 cents on a volume of 96,100, up 43 cents from last week. The company is earning a 50% interest in Noranda’s Oxford Lake gold project in northern Manitoba where drilling is under way. Lithium management could not be reached for comment.
Announcing the purchase of 100% of Ontario Inc., Registry Resources traded 67,000 shares, remaining firm at $1.55. Ontario has a 50% interest in a property in Duverny Twp., Que. According to Registry, the property covers geology similar to that hosting the Aur- Louvem deposit and known base metal deposits occur within one mile along strike.
Falconbridge Ltd. is planning additional drilling on their zinc- lead-silver prospect in Kidd Twp., near Timmins, Ont. Chance Mining and Exploration, 35% owned by Conwest Exploration, has a 10% royalty interest in the property. Chance shares remained steady at 28 cents, trading on a volume of 12,000.
