Noranda has discovered a new gold-bearing structure on the Holloway gold property near Matheson, Ont. Infill drilling on the claims it shares with Freewest, Noranda intersected grades of up to 0.42 oz. gold per ton over strong widths of 65-130 ft. above the main Lightning zone. Teddy Bear Valley Mines has a 30% interest in the adjacent claims, which host the downdip extension of the Lightning zone. Teddy Bear shares were 80 cents bid, $1.10 ask for the week ended May 29. Creating a bit of a stir, Findore Minerals shares jumped 30 cents before falling back to close at 25 cents, up 5 cents from last week on a volume of 54,584. Investors were under the impression that Findore is involved in the Timmins Land deal to purchase Breakwater’s South Rundle gold mine, near Timmins, Ont. Findore and Timmins Land, a private company, share the same president.
Shares of Lithium continued on a high-volume upward climb, edging up 36 cents to close at $1.86 on a volume of 390,000. President Harvey Tremblay says Noranda, Lithium’s joint venture partner on the Oxford Lake gold project in Manitoba, will be starting a summer exploration program on the property shortly.
Aiming to become an oil producer, Milestone Resource intends to purchase an oil company and a rotary drilling firm, while maintaining exploration efforts on its Birch Lake, Ont., gold properties. Milestone shares closed at 4 cents, down 1 cents from last week on a volume of 203,000.
