Volume was heavy for Conrex Corp. which holds a mixture of various industrial and junior resource company interests. Conrex shares declined by 2 cents to close at 33 cents on the week.

With several gold properties in the Shining Tree area of northern Ontario, Asquith Resources saw seven transactions involving its shares this week, but the price remained unchanged at 31 cents .

Dorchester Resources gained 50 cents to close at $1.00 on a volume of 35,600 shares. The company, headed by Globe and Mail journalist James Golla, has exploration properties near Caribou Lake and Blind River in northern Ontario. The Caribou Lake property, situated 25 km north of Armstrong, Ont., contains iron-formation hosted gold targets with values of 837 ppb gold reported from trench samples. A Toronto-based company, Platinum Lake Technology, is recover ing platinum from spent automobile catalytic convertors. Platinum Lake saw 26,200 of its shares traded but the price was unchanged at $1.80.

With results still awaited from this summer’s drilling campaign on property near Lac St Jean, Que., the shares of McNickel Inc. slipped 25 cents lower this week to close at $2.90. Also easier were the shares of another Lac St Jean area player, Teco Mines, which closed down a nickel at 60 cents .
