Cash-rich, but property-poor Atlantic Goldfields slipped 1 cents lower to close at 74 cents on a moderate volume of 91,200 shares this week.
A large block of shares in Jamie Frontier Resources changed hands in a single transaction this week. The company owns a 15-claim gold property near Red Lake, Ont. A drill program there last year failed to improve upon existing reserves of 72,500 tons grading 0.406 oz gold per ton.
Easier by 10 cents was Gold Bar Resources which closed at 75 cents after a total of six transactions. Also lower was McNickel Inc., losing 15 cents to close at $3.15. Drill results are still awaited from the company’s Quebec nickel-copper prospect.
Teco Mines advanced 30 cents to close at 65 cents with interest in this issue apparently generated by the fact that the company owns a 75-claim property near Lac St. Jean, Que. More than 20 juniors are currently involved in that area, where nickel- copper showings have been attracting substantial interest by exploration firms.
