Among others, the evening will feature musical guests such as Elton John, Shakira, and Burton Cummings. Robin Williams will entertain and stars such as John Travolta and more will join Canada’s very own Eugene Levy — the event’s master of ceremonies — on stage. CGSGI’s two dynamic leaders — Frank Giustra and President Bill Clinton — will discuss their groundbreaking effort to promote sustainable growth in the developing world.
CGSGI was established in June 2007 as an innovative partnership between the Clinton Foundation, the private sector, national governments, local communities, and NGOs to improve social and economic development efforts in countries where the natural resource industries are an important part of the economy. In short, CGSGI will help ensure that communities directly affected by mining and countries where mining takes place benefit from the presence of mining.
During the evening, industry-based pledges will be announced that will help CGSGI pursue its mission: transforming the way the natural resources sector undertakes its work in the developing world.
