Claude discoveries

Two gold discoveries have been made by Claude Resources (TSE) on properties in Saskatchewan and in the Northwest Territories. On the Grassy project in Saskatchewan, Claude geologists re-examined a former base metal area for gold. Bedrock samples from three showings assayed from 0.02-0.62 oz gold per t on. Also, soil and till samples returned anomalous gold values which suggest that a gold mineralized zone is located nearby.

At Sandybeach, located 210 miles north of Lynn Lake, Man., the company examined an area hosting sulphide-bearing sedimentary rocks which were first identified by the Geological Survey of Canada. Sampling by Claude returned gold assays up to 2.54 oz and 0.64% uranium oxide per ton from sheared and altered rock.

At the Ithingo Lake project, located 65 miles north of Buffalo Narrows, Sask., partner Newmont Mines is planning a $1-million exploration program this year. Newmont has the right to earn a 70% interest in the property by performing enough work to take the property to the production decision stage.
