Ontario’s first ever mining week, Oct. 15-19, is demonstrating the industry’s contribution to the economy nationwide and our daily lives. As well, it showcases programs that safeguard workers’ health and protect the environment. As part of the celebrations, Warren Holmes will speak at the lun0000,0603 cheon organized by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum at Royal York Hotel, Toronto, Oct. 18. Vice- president of Falconbridge Ltd.’s Kidd Creek division, Holmes will focus on strategies to upgrade facilities and to develop new ore reserves.
His speech will also highlight projects required to meet increasingly strict environmental regulations.
