Chesbar uncovers high gold values

High gold values continue to be uncovered in the No 1 raise being driven from the 200-ft level on the No 3 vein at the Chester Twp. prospect in northern Ontario, Chesbar Resources reports.

Chesbar, which is earning a 60% interest in the property from Murgold Resources, reports the raise has been driven for 119 ft, with assays from face sampling available for the first 81 ft. President J. T. Flanagan says this length averages 0.93 oz gold per ton over an average raise width of 4.8 ft.

Face sampling of the first 50 ft of this length, previously reported, averaged 0.77 oz over an average raise width of 5 ft. Muck sampling for the 81-ft length averaged 0.64 oz.

The No 2 raise is now under way on the 150-ft level; back sampling at the point where the raise was started gave 0.92 oz over 2 ft and 0.76 oz ov er 1.5 ft.

The company reports underground drill hole 87-U-90, an uphole testing the No 3 vein system, cut two intersections, one from 119 ft to 121 ft assaying 0.74 oz and the second from 136 ft to 143 ft returning 0.09 oz.

In other news, Chesbar reports that on the tut option, located 27 miles east of the above project, numerous quartz veins occurring in sheared mafic rocks have been identified.

And, at the Yeo Twp. property, located three miles to the west of the main Chester Twp. property, several shear zones have been discovered, the longest of which has been traced for 2,300 ft.
