With the resumption of drifting on the No 3 vein at a depth of 200 ft, Chesbar Resources reports high gold values have been encountered at the Chester Twp. property in northern Ontario.
From the point where previous drifting had been temporarily halted, 39 ft of new drifting for which assays are available has averaged 0.85 oz gold per ton over an average width of 5.8 ft, the company reports.
Drifting earlier this year averaged 0.53 oz over 5.5 ft for a length of 320 ft, President J.T. Flanagan says. The drifting was halted in order to extend the ramp to access a new level 400 ft deep; with the ramp about 300 ft from its objective, it has been possible to resume drifting, Mr Flanagan says.
Chesbar is earning a 60% interest in the property from Murgold Resources.
