Drilling on the Lawyers property owned by Cheni Gold Mines (TSE) has intersected some spectacular high-grade gold and silver values on a newly discovered quartz-chalcedony vein.
Results from a recently completed 20-hole program on the zone ranged from non-economic, to hole 92-47 which intersected 78.5 oz. gold and 1,330 oz. silver over 5.8 ft.
Although winter is rapidly approaching at the property in north-central British Columbia, Cheni recently started a second drilling program of infill holes on the zone.
The previous 3,000-ft. program included 20 holes drilled on a grid of east-west tiers at 50-ft. intervals with five holes per tier. The infill program will total about 1,000 ft. initially, with additional work dependent on weather, results and available funding.
The company is searching for additional sources of ore for its mill, which shut down at the end of July.
Work on the nearby Mets property, including underground development as well as an assessment of previous diamond drilling, outlined a cut and diluted minable (probable and possible) reserve of 59,600 tons grading 0.34 oz. gold. Cheni recently acquired the property from Golden Rule Resources (TSE) and Manson Creek Resources (TSE), subject to a 10% production royalty on the first 75,000 tons increasing to 17% on any additional reserves.
