Charles Fipke, chairman of Dia Met Minerals (TSE), will oversee a gold exploration venture into Nevada.
The $4-million work program will be operated by Dia Met, under the terms of a recent joint-venture agreement with Goldtex Resources (VSE).
The companies will explore more than 150 targets, already selected, in various parts of Nevada.
The program will be managed by Discovery Consultants, which has carried out exploration work in the area of interest for more than 15 years. Fipke will oversee the project.
The target areas will be evaluated by a combination of geochemical and geological techniques.
Dia Met and Discovery have developed a sophisticated, geochemical approach to Nevada gold exploration, using a combination of various techniques.
Dia Met and partner Goldtex say these techniques have already resulted in a several discoveries.
A professional geologist, Fipke made the first diamond discoveries in the Lac de Gras region of the Northwest Territories.
