Everyone knows everyone in the Canadian diamond drilling industry, and that is clearly evident at the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association’s annual convention. Although it is a highly competitive business, the convention offers an opportunity for friends and acquaintances in the industry to gather and exchange information.
This year, the CDDA held its 48th annual convention in Winnipeg. Although registration was not as high as in the past few years, the technical papers were of a high calibre and the social activities were well attended.
Max Matte retired after serving as secretary-manager of the association for the past five years. He was presented with a plaque during the closing night’s dinner.
The association has designated Ottawa as the site for the 1992 convention and, for the 50th anniversary in 1993, the association will hold its annual convention in New Orleans, La.
