Cayouette elected QMA president

The new president of the Quebec Mining Association (QMA) is Patrice Cayouette, a native of Bonaventure, Gaspe, Que. Cayouette succeeds Paul Bedard in the 1-year post.

Involved in Quebec’s mining industry for 20 years, Cayouette is currently director general of the Gaspe mines division of Noranda Minerals. Noranda operates a copper mine at Murdochville in the interior of the Gaspe Peninsula. The QMA, with headquarters in Quebec City, is an organization representing the majority of Quebec’s mineral producers. Recently named general manager of the QMA was Dan Tolgyesi, who assumes the full-time administrative position of the retiring Claude Drouin.
