A loss of $33,000 was reported by Cathedral Gold (TSE) for the first three months of this year, compared with a loss of $57,000 in the 1990 first quarter.
The company has a 52% interest in the Sterling gold mine near Beatty, a combined heap leach and underground operation 120 miles north of Las Vegas, Nev.
During the 1991 first quarter, 3,137 oz. gold were achieved which, the company said, reflected its second best operating results. During the period, 12,989 tons grading 0.26 oz. gold per ton were produced, compared with 11,248 tons grading 0.3 oz. gold during the comparative 1990 period.
Trackless underground production is reported to be on schedule to meet a forecast recovery of 12,000 oz. gold this year.
