Cassiar Mining (TSE) recently assumed responsibility for completing work on its $50-million McDame asbestos project in British Columbia.
Prior to Dec. 20, Hillsborough Resources (TSE) of Toronto was working under contract to develop underground workings before the project goes into production in September.
According to Hillsborough, the companies have agreed to arbitration to settle a number of outstanding issues relating to work completed so far.
The project is being developed to replace Cassiar’s former open pit mine which was in production for 38 years before it closed last June. Hillsborough has been involved with the project since 1985.
