Casino prefeasibility set for year-end

Infill and stepout drilling on the Casino gold-copper-molybdenum property in the southwestern Yukon is now finished.

During this year’s program, Pacific Sentinel Gold (VSE) carried out 55,119 ft. of large-diameter diamond drilling in 83 holes, raising the total to more than 220,000 ft. in 210 large-diameter holes.

Grid drilling defined the deposit’s overall resource and confirmed the continuity of the three principal mineralogical zones. The deposit consists of a surface or near-surface oxide gold zone, underlain by a copper-enriched gold-copper supergene zone, followed by a primary gold-copper-molybdenum hypogene zone.

Metallurgical testing on the three zones is continuing, with four processes under evaluation. These include: cyanide leaching of both the oxide gold and supergene zones; primary acid heap leaching with solvent

extraction-electrowinning followed by cyanide heap leaching; standard crushing, grinding and froth flotation; and bio-leaching.

Mine planning and reserve estimation are under way and Pacific Sentinel expects to have a detailed prefeasibility study in hand by year-end. The deposit is estimated to contain 584 million tons grading 0.26% copper, 0.025% molybdenum and 0.008 oz. gold per ton.
