A 12,000-ft drilling program is being carried out by Carlson Mines and its joint- venture partner Black Gregor Explorations on their Hemlo-Marathon property, north of Lake Superior, Ont.
The program, which began in January, is testing two mineralized structures, zones `A’ and `D’ identified by geological and geophysical work over the past three years. A 3,000-ft drill program in 1987 outlined a strike length of 2,000 ft on two parallel structures about 600 ft apart.
Carlson owns 40% and Black Gregor has a 60% interest in the project. Carlson President Robert Platt says negotiations are proceeding for a possible third joint-venture partner.
