A second-phase exploration program has started on the ROK property, an equal joint venture between Consolidated Carina Resources (VSE) and Manchester Resources (ASE).
The copper-gold property is in the Kinaskan Lake region of northwestern British Columbia, which is not far from the village of Iskut and the Stewart-Cassiar Highway.
The partners released chip sampling results from a first-phase trenching program designed to test eight porphyry copper targets.
The first trench was emplaced along a trend of a 1990 drill hole which intersected 1.32% copper over 125.9 ft.
Copper mineralization was exposed over a length of 324 ft. along the first trench, with the chip sampling returning grades of 0.427% copper and 0.011 oz. gold per ton, which included 59 ft. of 0.79% copper and 0.022 oz. gold. The copper mineralization was traced beyond the trench in outcrop for an additional 83 ft. to the north.
Similar encouraging results over narrower lengths (19.6-118.1 t.) were reported from other trenches in the recent program.
The second-phase program will include more diamond drilling on the Main zone, initial drill testing of the South zone, and drill and trench testing of other targets.
