Manager, Safety and Loss Prevention
You are expected to champion the business units continued efforts in the institutionalization of a comprehensive loss control system. This system has been developed to mitigate/reduce all losses in the areas of health, safety and the environment.
Your degree is coupled with 10 years of experience in a large unionized plant, preferably a mine, and a thorough working knowledge of DNV loss-control concepts and auditing protocol, and Occupational Health and safety legislation. High standards of excellence, proven initiative and solid computer skills are key, as are good communication, supervisory and organizational abilities. A Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation and/or Accreditation as a Loss Control/Environmental Auditor would be assets. An excellent understanding of behavior based safety techniques and their application with respect to employee motivation would also be a benefit.

The successful candidate will be a Mechanical Engineer or a Mechanical Engineering Technologist with three to five years experience in heavy industry. Proven experience in leading a preventative/predictive program using technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis and non-destructive tests is required. GOLDCORP INC.-Red Lake Mine
Located in Balmertown, Ontario our operation is in the final design and preliminary construction phase for a high grade producing gold mine. The Red Lake area is ideal for raising a young family with schooling from kindergarten to grade twelve, including O.A.C. Dental and medical services are available through local clinics and a forty bed hospital in the town of Red Lake, six miles from the mine site. The area offers an assortment of recreational activities such as an eighteen hole golf course, swimming, curling, bowling, hockey, baseball, fishing and hunting.

Underground Construction Co-ordinator
The successful candidate will report to the Construction Manager. The candidate must have an engineering degree in a mining related field from a recognized university. Eight to ten years experience in underground mining with a strong emphasis in capital projects is required. Experience in interacting with contractors would be considered a definite asset. Computer literacy is required. The successful candidate must have above average written and oral communications skills with demonstrated organizational abilities.
Mill Metallurgist
The successful candidate will report to Mill Superintendent. A university degree in Mineral Processing or Metallurgical Engineering is required with a minimum of 10 years experience in milling of refractory gold ore. Supervisory experience in the operation of a CIP plant is an asset. The Metallurgist will be involved in the planning and coordination of the metallurgical testing program, provide input into the construction of the mineral processing facility, develop metallurgical accounting spreadsheets, aid in the preparation of operational safety and training manuals. Computer literacy in Microsoft office is required, along with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Safety Superintendent
The successful candidate will report to the Mine Manager and must have a university degree or college diploma in a mining related discipline. The candidate must possess or be eligible to obtain C.R.S.P., and have a minimum of 10 years experience in Safety Training and Personnel Management. Responsibilities involve the development and implementation of health and safety programs including risk assessment and safety audits. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills along with a proven track record in the field of safety are required.
