Chief Exploration Geologist
Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Co., Limited, the wholley owned exploration subsidiary of Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co., Limited is seeking a Chief Exploration Geologist for their exploration office in Flin Flon, Manitoba.
The incumbent is responsible for implementing and managing exploration programs searching for volcanic hosted massive sulphide deposits in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Duties will include budget preparation and monitoring and managing a motivated multi-disciplined exploration team. Communicating with senior management at the operations in Flin Flon is required.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of fifteen years of experience in the mining industry with a strong background in base metal exploration with some underground mine geology experience preferred. Experience will span projects from grassroots to the feasibility level. Academic qualifications are a minimum MSC in Geology or Geological Engineering. Must have working experience in general office software in a Windows environment along with exploration data management software.
This position reports to the Vice President of Exploration.

Instrumentation Technician
As an Instrumentation Technician you will be responsible for trouble shooting, debugging and programming controllers relating to the mill process and other electronic equipment. The Instrumentation Technician is also responsible for installing, setting up, making blueprints and schematics for new and existing control loops.
Candidates must have their journeyman status and solid working knowledge of programmable logic controllers and distributing control systems. Those applying should have three years industrial experience, commissioning and startup experience. Familiarity with Provox/Modicon systems is an asset.

Mine Maintenance Planner
The Mine Maintenance Planner is responsible to co-ordinate the mine preventative programs using our computerized maintenance management system (SAP), and for ensuring that equipment history records and drawings are kept up-to-date. You will also be responsible for planning work orders originating from operations and maintenance including estimated manpower, identifying and obtaining necessary parts and materials, and preparing necessary drawings or sketches.
The successful candidate should have 5 years experience as a journeyman maintenance tradesperson, or have previous maintenance planning experience. Graduates of mechanical and/or mining engineering with strong equipment maintenance backgrounds would also be considered. Computerized maintenance management systems experience in a Windows environment is essential.

2nd Class Power Engineer
Reporting to the Mill Chief Power Engineer, this position will operate and maintain all steam boilers in the mill and acid plant as per the Saskatchewan Boilers and Pressure Vessels Act. The incumbent will also be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the acid and ammonium sulphate crystallization plants.
Candidates will have their 2nd class power engineer certificate, and must also have the ability to train and assist Northern Residents in obtaining a 2nd class certificate. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems, excellent record keeping skills, the ability to work with both operations and maintenance departments and experience with distributed control systems, are essential.
McClean Lake is a unionized worksite and this position is included within the scope of the collective agreement.
