Qualifications: Knowledge of geophysics emphasizing potential field data, e.g., magnetics, gravity; research-level capability in at least one sub-field; experience applying geophysics to practical geology, field geophysical survey techniques, computer programming and visualization software; knowledge of Precambrian geology, mineral deposits and exploration; ability to demonstrate practical experience working in a geological team environment to interpret Precambrian bedrock geology.

Compilation Geoscientist

$52,300 – $63,500

Challenge your skills in this opportunity with the Ontario Geological Survey, Precambrian geoscience section. You will: conduct independent, detailed geological investigation of rocks of the Canadian Shield through compilation of existing mapping, assessment file and mineral deposit data in a digital environment; provide expert geological advice to government, public and mineral exploration industry; prepare technical communications, including reports, talks and papers. Location: Sudbury. File MNDA – 33.

Qualifications: through knowledge of scientific theories, practices, techniques and precedents and of mapping/compilation in deformed Precambrian greenstone terranes; knowledge of mineral-deposits geology and regional geological features; experience using Windows 95/NT operating systems, CAD and geological mapping GIS packages; well developed research/analytical techniques; good organization, interpersonal and communication skills; experience working in a team environment; valid driver’s licence.

Loss Control Supervisor

Reporting to the Administrator, Employee Relations, you will be responsible for the management of Health, Safety and Loss Control programs, and the administration and implementation of related legislation. Duties include working with all mine departments to develop and maintain professional health and safety standards, planning and implementing loss control programs, developing related safe-work procedures and policies, managing Workers’ Compensation Board claims, and co-chairing the occupational Health and Safety Committee.

The successful candidate will have 7 to 10 years of experience, preferably in a mining environment. You will also have a university degree and your Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation.
