POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Principal is responsible for the administration of the Haileybury School of Mines Campus of Northern College. The Haileybury School of Mines Campus has a history linked to mining education that goes back to 1912 and
prior to its incorporation into Northern College, was the Provincial Institute of Mining. The Principal relates with students, faculty and staff at the campus and liaises with the community. He/she will effectively manage the human and fiscal resources to provide programs and services that meet the educational objectives of the departments, of the campus, of the
College, and the needs of the community.
The Principal will continue to diversify the campus through increased post secondary and training and development program offerings by providing leadership/guidance/direction to the faculty and staff, by participating actively in community economic development focus groups, and by collaborating with community, the mining instrumentation industries and program advisory committees to develop, evaluate and revise curriculum. The Principal will play a key role in the promotion and involvement of the Mining School in international projects. The College seeks an individual who is a recognized leader and an efficient administrator with the ability to make timely, sound and equitable decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have a four (4) year university degree, preferably in Mining Engineering or related area, and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive managerial and/or educational experience. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
are necessary. A technological background and international experience will be considered assets.

A TVX Gold Inc/High River Gold Mines Ltd. Joint Venture
New Britannia Mine is a 2300 tpd underground gold mine. We have an immediate opening for the following positions:
Draftsperson
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for engineering and geology related draft work. In addition to this, maintain the mine design database in a current and organized fashion.
Requirements for this position are two to four years of drafting experience, preferably in a mining environment, working knowledge of Auto Cad (currently using release 14) and MS Office software. Knowledge of Gemcom will be considered an asset. Additional tasks will include assisting the systems manager.
Mine Surveyor
Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, the successful candidate will be responsible for underground and surface surveying, preferably working in either position of a two-man team.
Requirements for this position are two to four years of surveying experience, preferably in an underground mining environment, a working knowledge of current survey software, CAD and MS Office. Previous use of a Total Station would be an asset.
