Canmine program intersects copper at Ontario prospect

Drilling on the Werner Lake base metal property, northwest of Kenora, Ont., has encountered encouraging copper mineralization.

Canmine Resources (ASE) is carrying out the multi-hole program in order to test a zone of disseminated copper mineralization which has a minimum strike length of 1 mile.

The first hole intersected copper mineralization over a total core width of 72.24 ft. The mineralization is contained within an upper and lower alteration zone, bounding a main stringer zone. The upper zone returned 0.19% copper over 33.86 ft., the stringer zone contained 1.08% copper over 31.99 ft. and the lower zone graded 0.36% copper over 6.39 ft.

Mineralization in the main stringer zone consists of disseminations and veins of chalcopyrite.

Visual inspection of the second hole indicates that the chalcopyrite mineralization is more abundant and that the overall width of the zone has increased significantly. The core from the second hole is being analyzed and a third hole is in progress.
