Two mineralized zones have been encountered on Canmine Resources’ (ASE) wholly owned Fer property in northern Manitoba.
One of the areas, known as the Point zone, contains precious metal mineralization, while the other discovery, known as the Bay zone, hosts base metal values.
Hole Fer-99, which was drilled to test a geophysical conductor at the Point zone, intersected 21.8 grams gold and 25.5 grams silver per tonne over 1.01 metres. A second hole, Fer-100, drilled on the periphery of the zone, encountered 0.95% copper over 1.3 metres.
Only one hole was drilled into the Bay zone, owing to poor ice conditions. This hole, Fer-101, cut 4.57 metres grading 1.75% zinc and 0.04% copper, as well as 16.5 grams silver.
Other highlights include 1.54% zinc over 3.55 metres in hole Fer-74; 3% zinc, 0.18% copper and 6.8 grams silver over 2.5 metres in Fer-94; and 2.38% zinc, 0.45% copper and 9 grams silver over 7.9 metres in Fer-106.
A total of eight mineralized zones have been outlined, six of which occur along a mineralized trend with a known strike length of 3.2 km. Additional drilling is planned for May.
