Canmine aims to restart plant

AGRA Simons has been retained by Canmine Resources (CMR-T) to investigate the feasibility of resuming production at the hydrometallurgical cobalt extraction plant and refinery in Cobalt, Ont.

The initial program of test-work, engineering and planning is expected to last two months. The plant was operated briefly by Cobatec until various problems, including a shortage of feed, forced its closure. Cobatec went into receivership in late 1998 and the plant was acquired from the receiver.
