Cancor tallies Gemini resource

Having sunk an additional eight holes, Cancor Mines (KCR-M) is calculating a preliminary resource for its Gemini volcanogenic massive sulphide property in northwestern Quebec.

Work to date has defined two massive sulphide lenses, one of which is rich in zinc, the other, in copper. The former — the focus of the latest campaign — is associated with pyrite mineralization and sits stratigraphically atop the exhalative copper zone.

The best result came from hole 72, which cut 10.7 metres grading 6.6% zinc and 0.29% copper, plus 177.5 grams silver and 1.33 grams gold per tonne. Most of the other holes hit narrower intervals (1.3-4.9 metres) grading 0.11%-7.94% zinc, anomalous to 1.84% copper, 24.4-119.3 grams silver and 0.13-1.65 grams gold.

Also, hole 73 and a portion of hole 78 cut stringer mineralization in the footwall, where up to 3.8% copper, 0.83% copper, 83 grams silver and 3.75 grams gold occur over intervals as wide as 6 metres.

Thirteen holes have outlined the zinc lens over a strike length of 120-150 metres with spacings of 50 metres. The zone extends between 180 and 525 metres below surface and is 1.5-12 metres wide.

Cancor can acquire a half-interest in the Gemini property from Inco (n-t) by spending $1.5 million on exploration and issuing 300,000 shares.
