Two new mineralized zones were uncovered by Canchrome Mines (ME) on the company’s Belanger chromite property near Thetford Mines, Que.
One of the zones, Reed-A, sits 25 metres north of the Main zone and has a strike length of more than 550 metres, the company says. The other zone, Reed-B, is 60 metres north of the Reed-A zone.
Canchrome says it has received assays from 27 of the 41 holes that were drilled and three holes that were deepened during a winter program. Before the winter program, total reserves of the Main zone were estimated to be 5.5 million tonnes grading 6.63% Cr2O3. The company says the grade seems to increase at depth and to the south of the old Reed mine.
