Canada wins environmental award

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has received an international award for advancing the practice of environmental assessment.

The Canadian government agency was recognized for its prominent role in initiating a study in this field and for convening a conference on environmental assessment in Quebec City in 1994. The award was presented by the International Association for Impact Assessment in Durban, South Africa, at its annual conference. The award is presented annually to recognize organizations with outstanding achievements in the field of impact assessment.
