Cameco, Uranerz report diamonds in kimberlite find

Both partners note that on average, fewer than one kimberlite pipe in a hundred might have grades which would support a diamond mining operation. Earlier this year, Corona Corp. (TSE) dropped its option on a large lan d package after concluding that its diamond find in a kimberlite pipe was uneconomic. Monopros Ltd., the Canadian affiliate of DeBeer’s, the world’s largest diamond producer, also said that its diamond-bearing kimberlite was uneconomic. The Monopros and Corona projects are also near Prince Albert.
