A trenching and chip sampling program has been completed by Calpine Resources on the company’s Eisler Lake gold property near La Ronge, Sask.
The work tested sections of the DD zone, discovered during the summer. Calpine took 52 chip samples from five trenches. Gold values exceeding 100 parts per billion were assayed in 14 samples and 0.032-0.23 oz gold per ton in six samples.
The results suggest the DD zone, which remains open in both directions along strike, hosts economic gold values, the company says. A drilling program is being planned which will test the zone along strike and at depth.
Sampling of the Georges Lake zone, in the southern section of the property, yielded gold values ranging from 0.036 oz to 0.112 oz gold per ton. Calpine, which holds the property under option from Claude Resources, has the right to earn a 70% interest.
