Brunswick Mining

Brunswick Mining and Smelting reports a loss of $8,090,000 for the nine months ended Sept 30, against a loss of $2,316,000 for the similar period in 1985. Net revenue was $157,504,000 compared with $161,640,000 last year.

In the third quarter this year, the company took a loss of $2,791,000, on revenues of $l47,428,000, compared with a loss of $4,057,000 on revenues of $l48,154,000 in the 1985 third quarter.

Brunswick notes that there was a 3-week annual maintenance shutdown at the smelter during the latest quarter. Operations at the mine had been suspended for two weeks in July for market reasons and necessary maintenance.
