El Potosi, which shut down in 1952, has a small high-grade gold reserve of 13,000 tonnes grading 19.5 grams gold per tonne in a volcanic-hosted system of epithermal quartz veins. The vein system has been traced for 3,000 metres on surface, with grab samples returning up to 119 grams gold per tonne and one chip sample recording 26.5 grams across 3.9 metres.
